The board will advise the DHS on how to best govern the way AI is deployed across critical infrastructure sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that AI can be a powerful tool but also has the potential to be misused. The board will include representatives from tech companies, critical infrastructure entities, academia, and government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the members of the board include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore. The board will convene for the first time in May and meet quarterly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a positive step by the DHS to ensure that AI is used safely and securely.
